Welcome Youth Curlers to our 2020-21 Season!
Our goal is to increase curling awareness, encourage participation and continue to develop the skills of young curlers ensuring the long tradition of the sport of curling carries on for many years to come in St. Albert. The mandate – to teach our youth how to enjoy the game of curling while encouraging good sportsmanship and fun competition.
We would like to recognize Marc Kennedy and the St. Albert Optimist Club for their generous donation of the Lite Rocks®, and LR houses. These will improve the experience for all our young curlers!
We have a variety of youth programs to help develop our youngest, introductory curler to the more advanced and elite curlers. The level of programs offered are Green, Blue and Gold groups and STAJED for Success (St Albert Junior Elite Development) as well as district supported school programs.

Connect and Curl
This new website is for curlers of all levels looking for teams and/or spares to be able to connect for bonspiels, playdowns, etc. There is no charge to become a member to register on their database. Anyone, even non-members, will be able to search for available players. The goal of this service is to promote curling by assisting curlers and teams to connect in time for the upcoming curling season.
Youth Curlers Equipment Requirements
Curlers require curling shoes (alternative – CLEAN indoor runners) and warm, comfortable clothing – preferably in layers.
ONE NEW GRIPPER provided for our Sunday program curlers.
Otherwise, it will be up to the individual player and their level of play as to any additional equipment they decide they need. Brooms and sliders will be available at the club or you can bring your own. Curling equipment is available for sale at the club from our newly expanded Pro Shop.
Call for Volunteers
All youth programs are organized and run by dedicated volunteers in concert with SACC General Manager & a Certified Head Coach. This program would not exist without volunteers nor would it be cost effective for young families. We strongly encourage ALL parents to participate and ask that you consider sharing your time & talents. From “Sheet Monitor” to assisting with social activities we guarantee a fun & rewarding time while meeting new families! NO experience necessary! We will provide instruction early in the season and the use of grippers for those on the ice. Please indicate your interest when you complete your child’s online registration.
