Junior Open House – Under 18 Sunday, October 4, 2026 | 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Bring the kids out to give curling a try in a fun, safe and supportive environment!
No experience is necessary. Juniors can get out on the ice, learn some of the basics, throw a few rocks and see what curling is all about.
Afterwards, grab some French fries, hang out with friends, meet other young curlers and learn more about our Junior Curling programs.
Whether they’re brand new to the sport, have tried curling at school, or are looking for something fun to do this winter, everyone is welcome!

Come and curl with us at the St. Albert Curling Club - we are sure to have a league for you! Our curling season runs from October to March with some leagues running multiple sessions. We have different types of leagues that you can join:
- Regular Leagues - These leagues take registration once a year 21 games with playoff opportunity - Team signup
- Fun Leagues - Most leagues have intakes throughout the year
- Youth Leagues - Fun for all ages! Various age groups and skills
- Other Curling Opportunities - New to curling? Try Adult Learn to Curl or One day clinics
About our Leagues
The St. Albert Curling Club is home to a variety of leagues offered throughout the week! Most days we have leagues that start at 9:00am to 8:45pm! Please note this does not mean they are open for registration. More League Information. For pricing: See League fee chart
1. Regular Curling Leagues
Mens/Ladies/Mixed
- 21 Games, with a playoff berth(s) eligibility
- Max 12 Teams per draw
- Team registration
- Skill level: Advanced Beginner to competitive
- Up to 6 players
2. Session/Fun Leagues
Wednesday Open Fun League
- A full season of 21 games
- Beginner to Intermediate League
- No playoff berth
- Up to 18 teams
- Team registration
- Up to 6 players
Friday Afternoon Open Fun League
- New for 2026-27 season, an OPEN Mixed League! 18 games. Teams of any combinations of gender.
- Fridays 3:00pm. 8 end games.
- Non-competitive Open League (no gender restrictions) perfect for novices or those who have some curling experience.
Friday Night Open Fun League
6 games! 6 people! 6 ends! ... and 6 beverages from the bar! You can alternate players between ends for extra fun (only 4 players on the ice at a time please), or bring the kids and take turns watching them upstairs. Non-competitive Open League (no gender restrictions) perfect for novices or those who have some curling experience. Great for date night... a social outing to kick start your weekend.
- 3 Sessions: Fall, Winter, Spring
- Up to 6 people on a team
- Times alternating between 6:30 & 8:30pm.
- One - 6 beverage bar card for each registered player.
Straight 8 Open Fun League (Saturday)
8 games! 6 people! 6 ends! and 8 beverages from the bar! You can alternate players between ends for extra fun (only 4 players on the ice at a time please), or bring the kids and take turns watching them upstairs. Non-competitive Open League (no gender restrictions) perfect for novices or those who have some curling experience. Great for date night... off the ice just in time to enjoy a beverage and fantastic food from Mama M's Concession!
- 2 Sessions: Fall, Winter
- Up to 6 people on a team
- Includes one - 8 beverage bar card for each registered player.
3. 50+ Daytime Leagues
More social then competitive - members can take part in various social activities. 2 types of curling - mixed curling and 2 person stick.
Open Mixed Curling:
- 4 person curling
- Register as individual indicating your preferred position
- League Director will make up teams
- Mondays or Wednesdays at 9:00am OR 11:00am
- 2 sessions - Fall / Winter
- 10 games each session (includes 2 weeks playoffs)
- Stick throwers welcome!
2 Person Stick Curling
- 2 person curling with a stick
- Register as a two person team
- 1 hour game
- 6 rocks only
- No sweeping between hoglines
- Follows Canadian Stick Curling Rules
- Tues, Thurs, Fri
4. Youth Curling
Little Rocks - Green
- Ages 8-10
- Sunday afternoons
- 15 sessions plus pre-season clinic and end of season Family Fun Spiel.
- Program: Weekly instruction & practice followed by a short break & fun games.
- Includes gripper and hoodie
Little Rocks - Blue
- Ages 10-14
- Sunday afternoons
- 15 sessions plus pre-season Clinic and end of season Family Fun Spiel.
- Program: Weekly instruction & practice followed by a short break & fun games.
- Includes gripper and hoodie
Junior Gold
- Ages 12-16
- Thursday after school 4:00-6:00pm with 4 Tuesdays (4:00-5:00 or 5:00-6:00pm) per season included
- Junior Gold offers participants the opportunity for personalized instruction with a certified instructor and/or Elite Curling athlete
- 18 sessions plus 4 semi-private lessons on Tuesdays (sign-up for Tuesdays will be sent out prior to the season starting)
- Includes hoodie
St. Albert Junior Elite Development Program (STAJED)
- Designed for competitive youth curlers aged 13 - 21 interested in developing their curling skills and athletic ability
- Tuesdays and Thursdays, afterschool
- Technical skills development, dry-land classroom study, fitness, nutrition and mental health importance.
- Includes hoodie
