Little Rock and Junior Programs

Welcome Youth Curlers to our 2023-2024 Season!

Our mandate – to teach our youth how to enjoy the game of curling while encouraging good sportsmanship and fun competition.  Our goal is to increase curling awareness, encourage participation and continue to develop the skills of young curlers ensuring the long tradition of the sport of curling carries on for many years to come in St. Albert.

We would like to recognize Marc Kennedy and the St. Albert Optimist Club for their generous donation of the Lite Rocks®, and LR houses.  These will improve the experience for all our young curlers!

We have a variety of youth programs to help develop our youngest, introductory curler to the more advanced and elite curlers. The level of programs offered are Green, Blue and Gold groups, Wednesday Youth Fun League, and STAJED for Success (St Albert Junior Elite Development) as well as district supported school programs.

Youth Curler's Equipment Requirements

Curlers require curling shoes (alternative – CLEAN indoor runners), a broom, and warm, comfortable clothing – preferably in layers.

ONE NEW GRIPPER provided for our Sunday Green and Blue program curlers.

Call for Volunteers

All youth programs are organized and run by dedicated volunteers in concert with SACC General Manager & a Certified Head Coach. This program would not exist without volunteers nor would it be cost effective for young families. We strongly encourage ALL parents to participate and ask that you consider sharing your time & talents. From “Sheet Monitor” to assisting with social activities we guarantee a fun & rewarding time while meeting new families!   NO experience necessary!  We will provide instruction early in the season and the use of grippers for those on the ice. Please note, parents are required to volunteer with their child's team - one parent from each team must be on the ice with the team each week.
